GEORGE III CARVED WAX MINIATURE

Recast, reset and regilding.

This carved wax silhouette of George III had been damaged in the post, the wax becoming detached from its backing and some of the details, particularly the ruff, being broken beyond repair. A new mould was made for the ruff and the wax recast. The new and original wax were then reset in position and the frame, with its crown top, regilded as necessary.
